One of my favorite parts of Vegas is the cactus. While Tate and the boys in his family were out shooting, his sister and I went plant shopping and we came out with a lot of cacti, dirt, and a couple of pretty ceramic pots. Planting was easy, and now we both have something that reminds us of back home. Let's hope these ones can stay alive longer than my other plants!

My birthday yesterday was awesome! Thanks everyone for the happy wishes. But I stole my sister's thunder 20 years ago. The day after I was born she turned 8. She'll never let me down for that... sorry Paige! Happy birthday! You've been the best sister I could ask for and I know I wouldn't be the same person I am today if it wasn't for you. You've always been my role model and I'm so happy you introduced me to crafting and design and good style :) Love you!!

We just can't stay in one place for more than a week at a time... so we're heading to Nevada! We're going to play with family, attend a wedding, and celebrate my birthday. It's been crappy weather in Idaho lately so I'm excited for warm hot weather. And turning a year older is pretty cool, too.
See you next week!
we camped.

Friday afternoon we headed out to Bear Lake! Driving through the canyon was gorgeous and we stopped a couple of times to take photos... the best part about camping is that you can do it anywhere, so it was fun deciding where we wanted to sleep that night. We ended up staying at a campground site near the lake and made tin foil dinners and smores and ended the night with a laptop movie. The whole night we kept on saying "this is so fun!". Everything is just better when it's with your best friend.
Tate had a race the next morning close to our campsite and even though it was crappy weather he did great! We didn't spend another night camping because it was so cold and wet, but we had a good time the first night. As soon as the weather clears up again, we're heading out.

We're going camping (and bike racing) for the weekend and I can't wait! We're starting to buy our own camping gear and we're ready for an outdoor summer. Lots of exploring, lots of warm weather, and a lot of camp vibes. We'll be spending one night at Bear Lake and one night at Palisades. Stay tuned on instagram for our little getaway and it will *almost* feel like you're camping, too :)
inspiration, lately.

A typical inspiration board for me. Lots of color, any kind of plant, and of course, geometric shapes. I think that rug needs to be in my living room asap. We're heading to Vegas next weekend for my birthday (yay!) to visit family and go to a friends wedding. It's going to be a fun memorial weekend!
p.s. Thank you everyone for all of the nice comments on our wedding photos and honeymoon polaroids! Feeling so special :)

instax lovin.
5.07.2013

The day before our wedding I decorated five manila envelopes for each day of our honeymoon. I bought a ton of instax film and everyday we'd take at least ten photos. It's fun to watch your photos develop right in front of you, but even better when you keep it a surprise. So after we'd take a photo we'd slip the instax into the manila envelope and try not to peek at it for the rest of the day. We'd dump out the polaroids and look at them while we were eating dinner at the beach (bottom right photo). We'd laugh and reminisce about the fun things that happened earlier that day. And it gave us a little something extra to look forward to! Note to self: frame these photos like I have before.
one: my favorite animal in mexico, the "mexican lion"
two: cabo beach
three: found these pretty flowers while exploring
four: more beach
five: at the pier
six: zip lining adventures
seven: more exploring
eight: the sunset at our hotel
on being married.

We take a lot of instax photos, but this has to be one of my favorites (and that's saying something!). Our reception was at an old schoolhouse surrounded by pastures and trees. There were miniature horses right in front and it made for perfect photos. I still can't believe I married my dream man... and we get to be together for eternity! And married life is the best. Dinner together and sleepovers with your best friend every night. Stay tuned.... posting even more instax photos this week!
