the grand canyon in an instant.

In case you missed it on instagram, here's our standard instax scan of our most recent adventure to the Grand Canyon. I love carrying our instax camera around new places and waiting for moments that might look good on film. Some of them don't turn out (like the bottom left picture) but that's kind of why these cameras are so great.

the u.k. in an instant.

Vacations are always better when you bring along an Instax camera. I really love the risk of taking each picture and not knowing how it's going to turn out until it's too late to take another photo. There are a few pictures I didn't scan because they were totally duds but that's okay. Most of the time I'm happy with our instax photos even with the quality that a film photo has. So there you have it, England and Scotland in an instant!

Just one more of our day trip to Valley of Fire. Instant photos are my favorite!

the weekend in an instant.

Last week was filled with swimming at Bear Lake, rope swinging into a glacier lake in the mountains, cave exploring, and instax taking. It was pretty perfect. I'll be holding onto these memories real tight while I'm getting back into 'real life' with a full time job and apartment hunting ;)

Over the past couple of months Tate has been working hard to put on a cyclocross race here in town; it happened on Saturday and he did really really well! (I'll have to do a post this week about the process of creating the race and advertising it). After he finished we went pumpkin picking at a super small family owned patch and managed to find a few small pumpkins to take home! We're definitely soaking up autumn here in Idaho. Pumpkins in our apartment, check. Apple cider every morning, check.

note to self: Decorate our apartment for halloween!

It's been busy over here with family visiting and those last final assignments... but Tate did it! He officially graduated  BYU-Idaho with a four year degree in International Studies and I couldn't be happier for him. If you can tell in the photo on the right, we're both pretty excited. Congrats, Tate!

instax lovin.

 photo polaroids1_zps87b88b69.png
The day before our wedding I decorated five manila envelopes for each day of our honeymoon. I bought a ton of instax film and everyday we'd take at least ten photos. It's fun to watch your photos develop right in front of you, but even better when you keep it a surprise. So after we'd take a photo we'd slip the instax into the manila envelope and try not to peek at it for the rest of the day. We'd dump out the polaroids and look at them while we were eating dinner at the beach (bottom right photo). We'd laugh and reminisce about the fun things that happened earlier that day. And it gave us a little something extra to look forward to! Note to self: frame these photos like I have before.

one: my favorite animal in mexico, the "mexican lion"
two: cabo beach
three: found these pretty flowers while exploring
four: more beach
five: at the pier
six: zip lining adventures
seven: more exploring
eight: the sunset at our hotel

on being married.

We take a lot of instax photos, but this has to be one of my favorites (and that's saying something!). Our reception was at an old schoolhouse surrounded by pastures and trees. There were miniature horses right in front and it made for perfect photos. I still can't believe I married my dream man... and we get to be together for eternity! And married life is the best. Dinner together and sleepovers with your best friend every night. Stay tuned.... posting even more instax photos this week!

insta adventure.

We love instant photos. I think Tate's favorite part about this camera is shaking the film (although I rarely let him do it!). Easter weekend was such a blast and I'm glad we have these photos to look back on. Not every photo turned out perfect, but I think that's the beauty of an instax.

sneak peek engagements.

Here's a little sneak peek of our engagement shoot. Brooke nailed it. We had such a good time going down to Utah for photos over the weekend and we were lucky enough to have her snap a couple of instant photos too. Can't wait to share the real photos and details with you guys soon ;)

chili and friends.

We went up to the local ski resort last night because our church had a sweet deal for cheap lift tickets and free fries and chili. And while we're not a fan of the cold, we were fans of the food (just wish my chili instax photo wasn't so blurry!). Tate and I met up with some roommates at the resort and we were all laughing the entire time. There aren't many things better than a cup of chili and good friends.

the weekend.

Weekends where you don't have to think about work/school are the best. We spent time with Tate's side of the family in Utah over the weekend. We ate and ate and laughed and laughed the entire weekend. "Little" Allison (left photo) can entertain us forever. She's managed to wrap Tate around her fingers (and mine, too) and somehow she ended up tagging along with us on our ice cream date. I'm hoping we can have another weekend like this soon!

it's here.

(Sorry for the excessive amount of instax photos lately)
Yesterday I came home to the best package ever. I took a risk and purchased my wedding dress online from BHLDN (Anthropologie's sister store that makes wedding dresses). But I'm so happy with it and somehow it fits perfectly. I took a picture of only the box because I'm trying to keep the dress a secret from Tate for 7 months... and I'm already impatient.

the weekend.

Our first week back in Rexburg has been so good. We've hit up most of our favorite restaurants and started our Friday night dates again (dinner and the dollar movie theatre). Last night we had dinner at Robyn's and ended the night with our favorite apple cider. I was super bad at taking photos over the weekend, but we did take these instax ones. It's minus ten outside and Tate's still sporting his Disney Crocs. He's a keeper!

lake wenatchee in an instant.

I posted about our trip to the family cabin a couple of days ago, but I didn't share these instax photos. I literally say it everytime and I'll say it again, instant photos are my favorite. But how can you not when you see a pocket sized photo pop out of the camera and watch it develop right in front of you? So this time it's Lake Wenatchee in an instant. You can check out more of our instant adventures here, here, and here.

oh, you.

This guy. I get to spend 4 days with him. Best early christmas present, ever!

las vegas in an instant.

red rocks.
luv-it frozen custard.
shooting.
more red rocks.
That week in Vegas came and went in a second, but I sure had a blast. I lugged around at least three cameras at any given time and although those instax cameras are chunky, the photos are worth it. Tate and I had a fun time experimenting with the colored frames (you don't know the color until it pops out). Shoot, I love instant photos. And I'm s.o. happy I've got a guy that appreciates them too.

the weekend in an instant pt. 2

neon sign.
clam chowder.
more leaves.
wall art.
underdeveloped.

What the?! It feels like just yesterday we took these photos... but that's probably because I find myself staring at them 3+ times a day. Although that last photo is underdeveloped it's probably my favorite (there's something about real polaroid film instead of instax ones). Are any of you polaroid junkies too? I'd kill to see some of your photos!
26

the weekend in an instant pt 1.

gum wall.
bikes.
bagels.
leaves.

These are just half of the photos we took with our instax camera over the weekend. Oh boy, we sure love our instant photos. I've been eyeing that 'bikes' wall since forever and finally stopped to take a picture of Tate against it. You can check out more of our instax adventures here and here. It feels like this weekend went by in an instant but I'm glad I've got these pocket sized photos to keep forever.
23

smile and click.

I had nine photos left on my instax for the weekend in Utah and I told myself I wasn't going to come home with any unused film. And I love how every single one came out. I can't wait for a wall filled entirely of instax memories someday. There's something about polaroids where you just smile and click and wait for that photo to come out, then reminisce about those good times... that happened 60 seconds ago.
